I was in the mountains alongside my family (parents and brother). We were walking around, looking for a place to eat, as it was getting late and we were getting hungry. We found a small place that sold shawarma. It was very small, and the sawarma station was outside, in the yard (terasa). It also had strange rules. It only had a certain amount of ingredients tou can choose to put in your shawarma, and you couldn't choose too many. The shawarma also costed 40 lei, but it was small for that price. Too small. We got it anyways. Mine was a chicken shawarma, it had french fries, and here is where the ingredients rules came. I usually get a shawarma with cabbage, pickles, mayo (and onion sauce) and ketchup. But here, they didn't have some of my options. The woman, who was making the food, had pickles, but didn't have cabbage. So instead, I out in mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms. But not a lot of options. She also served two types of mushrooms: big ones and small ones. I chose the small ones. I was only allowed to choose one type of sauce instead of 2, so i chose normal mayo. It was square shaped and almost looked like a square burrito. And when i tasted it... it tasted very bland and mild. I feel like it was supposed to TASTE like something, but all i got was almost nothing. Just a bit of flavor here and there, but nothing wow. Really disappointing. I told my family that, who got their own shawarmas, but they liked theirs. And I didn't understand how they could like something so expensive that was small and tasteless. After we ate, e left and started heading down the hill we were on. (Walking on the sidewalk) My mother told me that I could come to this place to eat when I would have my college trip. And I remembered that i would have a college trip in a week thay woukd bring me to this place. But I had to remind myself NOT to come back to this shawarma place again.
Dreaming of being in the mountains with your family often represents a journey or path you are on that involves connection, support, and perhaps challenges that you are facing together. Mountains can symbolize obstacles or goals, suggesting that you might be approaching a significant point in your life that requires effort and determination.
The search for a place to eat in your dream underlines a quest for satisfaction or fulfillment. It suggests you are looking for something to nourish you, metaphorically speaking, such as knowledge, emotional fulfillment, or other "nutrients" in your life. The fact that the place you find sells shawarma introduces elements of culture, comfort, and specifics about what choices are available to you.
The theme of limited options and restrictions on ingredients mirrors perhaps a feeling in your waking life of being constrained or limited in your choices. The high cost and small size of the shawarma may symbolize how certain aspects of life currently feel: you are giving a lot (or paying a high price) but not receiving the proportionate satisfaction or rewards you anticipated.
Choosing mushrooms instead of cabbage reflects a deviation from your usual preferences—this can represent a situation where you feel forced to adapt or accept less than ideal conditions. The choice of small mushrooms might reflect a subconscious attempt to minimize these unexpected or unwanted changes.
Your disappointment with the bland taste of the shawarma highlights feelings of dissatisfaction, regardless of others around you seeming content. It could symbolize a sense of disconnect between your own expectations and experiences and those of others, even close family members.
Going down the hill after the meal suggests a transition phase, possibly moving towards a conclusion or resolution in the situation. Your mother's advice about returning during your college trip might symbolize advice or pressure from authority figures or loved ones that doesn't align with your own desires or experiences.
The mention of an upcoming college trip reflects anticipation for the future—perhaps a significant change or step in your education or personal development. The reminder to avoid the unsatisfactory shawarma spot further emphasizes a need for decision-making aligned with your understanding and values, perhaps urging you to trust your own experiences over others’ opinions.
Overall, this dream might be prompting you to consider areas in your life where you feel restricted or unsatisfied, and encouraging you to make choices that stay true to your values and personal preferences, even when they diverge from the expectations or judgments of those around you.
